Lineage 2 PVP Equipment Guide

2010 - 2 - 4

Tanks

If you want to play up your defensive abilities, go for equipment that further boosts your HP and CON. Some tanks feel that their HP and CP are already sufficient and want more attack power, in which case they might favor equipment that boosts p.atk instead. Whichever armor set you prefer, I personally recommend swords with offensive SAs over blunts with health SA. While a health SA weapon will give you substantially more HP, your damage will be much lower with a blunt due to inferior crit potential. Your base HP, CP, and pdef should be quite adequate in most cases, so only go for blunt if you are really feeling the need for more HP. Shillien Knights often prefer a one-handed mage sword such as an overenchanted Homunkulus, an Elemental Sword, or a Sword of Miracles.

Nukers

Casting speed/WIT is king in PvP. MEN can be sacrificed to a great degree if necessary, and m.atk/INT can also take a back seat. For example, the B grade Zubei set is arguably a poorer choice for PvP than Avadon or Blue Wolf due to the fact that 10% more m.atk makes much less difference to your overall effectiveness than +15% casting speed or +3 WIT does. Use tattoos for your WIT for sure, and strongly consider INT and CON. DEX is another possibility if you find that the extra movement speed and shield block makes enough of a difference for you. Acumen and Health SA weapons are the best options for nukers.

Healers

As with nukers, casting speed is your priority. Lower your MEN as much as you have to in order to increase your WIT, because MEN does a lot less for you than WIT does. Robes are optional except perhaps for Bishops, who should carry a Blue Wolf Robe set to maximize their rez %. I recommend light armor for healers (heavy for prophets in PvP) in most cases. Dark Crystal robes have a fairly decent pdef with full buffs, and the bonuses are quite impressive, so you may find them a viable alternative to Blue Wolf Light. The A grade light armors are fairly poor choices for healers except that Majestic Light offers stun resistance and a couple other minor bonuses along with good pdef. Again, Acumen and Health SA weapons are your best choices. M.atk is of extremely minimal concern; as long as you're using a level-appropriate weapon with blessed spiritshots, you're doing fine.

Summoners

Casting speed and pdef are paramount. CON and DEX are good secondary choices for tattoos. Blue Wolf Light for B grade, Dark Crystal Robes or Majestic Light for A grade depending on your preference of pdef vs. casting speed. Health SA is recommended.

Archers

Blue Wolf Light is the most popular set for B grade, while Majestic Light is the goal of most archers for A grade. Critical rate and attack speed are primary concerns, so archers tend to boost DEX if they use physical stat tattoos at all. Some archers also like to increase their STR. It's really a question of how much CON you're prepared to sacrifice. INT for WIT is also a common exchange for Silver Rangers and Hawkeyes, since WIT improves debuff resistance. Guidance, Quick Recovery, and Evasion are some of the most popular bow SAs. Evasion is most commonly used on the B grade Dark Elven Long Bow in conjunction with the Zubei set.

Daggers

Many daggers sacrifice STR for more DEX and/or CON since STR doesn't significantly boost the damage of dagger styles. Treasure Hunters and Plainswalkers are also inclined to shift INT to WIT. Doom and Blue Wolf are both popular choices for B grade armor, while Nightmare is a popular choice for A grade due to the powerful hold/sleep resist. If you can't obtain an existing Might Mortal dagger, you might try using a Kris with Focus.

Swordsingers

Many of the same principles for outfitting tanks apply. Some Swordsingers like to carry bows at least as backup weapons since they carry their own crit buff with them as well.

Bladedancers

As with tanks and swordsingers, balance your offense and defense to your taste. Strongly consider Health SA duals for PvP.

Gladiators

Gladiators have high HP and CP to begin with, so you may feel comfortable sacrificing some CON to boost STR and/or DEX. Tallum and Majestic Heavy are obvious good choices, where Nightmare lowers your DEX a bit to give you more CON and high Root/Sleep resistance. Dark Crystal is not a great choice for Gladiators. Health SA duals will make you even harder to take down, but you might consider a more damage-oriented SA if you find your HP total to be sufficient as it is.

Destroyers

Consider more STR and/or DEX and a damage-oriented heavy armor setup like Blue Wolf for B grade or any A grade set except for Dark Crystal. An example option for A grade would be the Dragon Slayer with Health SA (a Soul Bow and some sort of blunt would be nice icing on the cake, though). Having a higher maximum health will allow you to activate health-dependent skills at a higher HP total than otherwise. Another viable option is to obtain a less-powerful two-handed weapon that allows Focus or another good offense-oriented SA and overenchant it.

Tyrants

Again, consider more STR or DEX if you make any adjustments at all. B grade light armor selection is a matter of personal preference, as arguments can be made for Doom (higher DEX and run speed at the expense of CON), Blue Wolf (higher pdef and slightly higher mdef through MEN increase), and Zubei (higher evasion). The B grade fist SAs aren't that wonderful for the most part, so pick whichever you like best. The top A fist, Dragon Grinder, has the option of Health SA. Choose an A grade light armor to taste -- Nightmare comes to mind as a good option considering not only its powerful resistance to Root and Sleep, but also its passive HP leech ability, which synergizes well with your fast attack rate.

Warcryers

As with other casters, increase your WIT. More CON and DEX are also good options. I recommend heavy armor for general PvP, though some Warcryers prefer to play a drain mage in robes, which is the way to go when fighting exclusively other casters. Heavy makes you significantly harder to take down, which keeps you up longer to Chant for your team and continue to cast drains at enemies. Health SA is my preference for Warcryers, though some may prefer a higher m.atk weapon with Acumen, especially if they are particularly concerned with maximizing damage potential.

Overlords

Can't get enough WIT, CON, and DEX. Heavy armor is optional for Overlords, because they can gain better casting speed and a larger MP pool in robes while maintaining a high pdef using Soul Guard. Many Overlords prefer Blue Wolf or Dark Crystal Robes for this reason. Health SA is a good choice for staying power in PvP despite your already impressive HP and CP totals, since you will be a priority target. Otherwise try an m.atk weapon with Acumen to pull off your drains and debuffs faster and to greater effect.

Dwarves

Many dwarves feel that they have more than enough CON, so they distribute some of that to STR and DEX. Blue Wolf Heavy is a good choice for an offense-minded dwarf in B grade, while any of the A grade heavy sets except for Dark Crystal would fit that play style well. Having a blunt and shield as well as a polearm for when it's handy is a good idea. The blunt SAs tend to be rather blah except for Health and possibly Focus if you're using a Meteor Shower, while Crit Stun and Wide Blow are fairly popular choices for polearms.

These are all i can find now. If you know more, please feel free to post them here.
